About Us

The Giles Medication Assistance Program has enrolled 2000 patients and has delivered over 12.3 million dollars in medication. Our program is funded by the United Fund of Giles County and RXRelief Virginia through the Virginian Health Care Foundation.  No controlled substances are ordered through GMAP. Only long term maintenance drugs such as blood pressure, thyroid, cardiac, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. can be ordered. In order to be enrolled in the GMAP program, you must have a physician and be a resident of Giles, Craig or Monroe Counties. You cannot have any type of insurance that covers medication and your income must be within the guidelines set by the pharmaceutical companies. When the patient comes in for a screening, they must bring proof of income for the household, tax returns and their medication.
